Two things worth knowing before you go. Some emergency rooms will not let family members in — they wait outside while the patient waits inside. And if you already know you need a specialist, go straight to Grosseto or Viterbo. The smaller hospitals often do not have one: one member drove to Acquapendente for an X-ray, was told his arm was broken, and had to go on to Viterbo anyway.
